Deluxe Package
Get a comprehensive insurance plan that covers:
- Trip cancellation provides coverage if you need to cancel or reschedule before departure
- Trip interruption provides reimbursement if your trip is interrupted after departure
- Emergency Medical provides coverage for emergency treatment and services from an unexpected sickness or injury
- Lost, stolen, or damaged baggage
- Travel delay provides coverage if your trip is delayed
- Travel accident coverage in case of life-altering losses or death due to accident
If you are not completely satisfied with this policy, you may cancel it within 10 days of purchase for a full premium refund as long as you have not left on your trip and have not experienced an event that would cause you to submit a claim before you have left for your trip.
Classic Emergency Medical Plan
The travel insurance covers:
- Emergency Medical provides coverage for emergency treatment and services from an unexpected sickness or injury
- Dental emergency costs you make abroad in case of an accident
- Emergency medical transportation to get you to a medical facility to obtain medical treatment due to an unexpected sickness or injury
If you are not completely satisfied with this policy, you may cancel it within 10 days of purchase for a full premium refund as long as you have not left on your trip and have not experienced an event that would cause you to submit a claim before you have left for your trip.
Trip Cancellation & Interruption Plan
- Reimbursement of your non-refundable and non-transferable pre-paid trip payments, deposits, cancellation fees and change fees (less available refunds), up to the amount you insure, shown on your Confirmation of Coverage
- Reimbursement for expenses for a covered reason if your trip is interrupted after departure. An interruption occurs if you need to cut your trip short or stay at your destination longer than planned Provides post-departure reimbursement for expenses for a covered reason if your trip is delayed

Travel insurance may to protect you from certain financial risks and losses that can occur while traveling. Trip cancellation and interruption benefits can reimburse you for non-refundable, pre-paid trip costs (up to the amount of your policy limits) should your trip be cancelled or interrupted for a covered reason. Depending on the travel insurance you purchase, insurance can also provide you with crucial assistance in a medical emergency; reimburse you for losses caused by a covered travel delay, baggage delay or baggage loss/damage; and help in other situations as well (listed in the Terms and Conditions).
Non-refundable costs may include pre-paid trip deposits/payments related to services purchased with KLM that would be lost if you had to cancel prior to trip departure for a covered reason.
This travel insurance policy is designed for you if you are an individual booking one or more flight tickets on the KLM website to travel to any destinations offered by KLM (except destinations excluded by the insurance policy) and if you wish to be protected against potential unforeseen events beyond your control, which could occur before or during your trip.
To be eligible for the insurance, you must be a resident of Canada.
This insurance policy is not suitable for you if:
- You participate in certain extreme sports activities or sports competitions during your trip
- You wish to cover multiple trips within the year
- Your trip has already started
- Your trip takes place in a country excluded by the insurance policy
- You already have another insurance policy that provides the same cover
Depending on the travel insurance you purchase, your policy can provide benefits for a number of situations that may occur before or during your trip. These benefits may include:

The travel insurance policy only covers people who are named as being insured on the certificate of insurance confirmation of coverage. Family members and/or travel companions are not covered unless they’re named in on the certificate of insurance confirmation of coverage.
Travel insurance is offered as an option when purchasing your flight tickets. All you have to do is add it to your basket and your tickets will be insured as soon as your purchase has been made.

The insurance policy number is shown in the confirmation e-mail you have received and in the certificate of insurance provided to you confirmation of coverage after purchasing your insurance.
